We decided to have lunch at the beach one afternoon. We drove the most direct and leisurely route to the coast via RT 528. There are tolls on this highway. We left around 9:30 so that we would have a little time to visit the Ron Jon Surf shop before lunch. Lorie had read about a place called Coconuts on the Beach https://www.coconutsonthebeach.com/ that was a place to try. We arrived in Cocoa Beach and drove to Ron Jon. While Ron Jon has free parking it is difficult to find parking in their small parking lot. We ended up parking across the street in the Winn Dixie parking lot and walking across the street to Ron Jon.
We left Ron Jon and continued on to Coconuts on the Beach. We arrived at Coconuts and like Ron Jon there is a very small limited parking lot. We circled the block looking for street parking and saw a few parking lots advertising all day parting for $15 and above for the beach goers. We decided to keep looking for street parking and found a spot a few blocks away. This being our first trip to Cocoa Beach we weren’t familiar with the on-street parking. There were numbers on each parking spot and we didn’t know what they meant. We stopped a local on the street and asked him about parking. He shared with us that the numbers on each parking spot is so the meter maids can determine how long you have been parking in the spot. The signs say 90 min parking and your tag number is associated with the parking spot. If you park longer than 90 minutes you are susceptible to getting a ticket.
We walked into Coconuts, which by the way is really on the beach, and on this beautiful sunny fall afternoon we seated ourselves at a table outside with a view of the beach. The waitress was very attentive with taking our drink and meal order. Coconuts is right on the beach where you can walk up from the beach and order a drink or food. It also looked like a section of the beach is reserved for Coconuts where they offer food/drink service. The food was like your typical food that you would find at an Applebee’s but it was good and the view and location perfect.
We highly recommend lunch at Coconuts on the Beach in Cocoa Beach.
